About Beas Kund Lake
Beas Kund lies at an altitude of 12,772 feet above sea level. This is a famous trek around Manali. Despite its difficulty, trekkers prefer to go here, because of its terrific mountain views, lush green grasslands, an emerald lake, and most importantly the magnificent Beas Lake. The Beas Kund is Associated with a very famous legend. It is said that the great Maharshi Vyas, the one who wrote the epic Mahabharata used to take bath at the Beas Kund. The serene water body Beas Kund and Pir Panjal Range around it, adds to its beauty and magnificence and attracts trekkers to this place.
The Beas Kund is considered to be a holy Lake that is located in Kullu Valley. It is the original source of River Beas. It is said that Maharshi Vyas used to take his bath and meditate here. It is a short trek that takes hardly up to 3 days to be completed.
This trek starts from Manali to Dhundali, via Solang Nallah. It takes approximately 5-6 hours to climb the trails of Solang Nallah. Then this route leads to Dhundi, which finally leads you to the magnificent Beas Kund.
